Cat-fish (panganius bocant) is a species characteristic of the Mekong river.
For this species a research scientist from CIRAD-GAMET has developed an artificial rearing technique that allows for alevins to be obtained directly, avoiding the need to catch them in a river. The production has now been semi-industrialized.
