Put on fat

Fatty substances from vegetal origin are by far more important in the world than animal fats.

All along this century, animal fat production has been multiplied by three and vegetal oil production by over seven.

Average worldwide consumption is around 11 kg per capita and per year.It is over 20 kg and more in North America and under 9 kg in Asia and Africa.

Although production level is about the same in developed and developing countries, consumption is much lower in the latter whereas it can be excessive in the first.
