Dry fruits :
Dry fruits are the only fruits which require the use of items of some cultural interest either for their production or for their consumption. In fact dry fruits were rather associated with cultural practices. In southern France for instance, dry figs, dry grapes, hazelnuts, and almonds were parts of the so-called thirteen desserts offered traditionally for Christmas. They were supposed to represent the colours of the frocks of the four principal mendicant orders, i.e. Carmelites, Franciscans, Dominicans and Augustinians.
